In a reversible process at each point along the process path the system is only slightly removed from being in thermodynamic equilibrium with its surroundings. For irreversible process there will always be an entropy change.

Reversible process is a process where the result can be reversed and the original substance can be obtained again. For example melting of ice cube is a reversible process as the water can be cooked and we can get the ice back. Irreversible process is a process where the original thing or substance cannot be brought back again. For example burning of paper
