The main difference between sliding and rolling friction is that the sliding friction occurs when one surface is rubbing against another surface, whereas rolling friction occurs when an object is rolling on another surface.

♥ The force resisting the motion of a rolling body on a surface is known as rolling friction .

E.g - Rolling of ball or wheel on the ground .

♥ Sliding friction is the restriction on the body’s movement as only one side of the body is in contact with the surface .

E.g - Pushing a box across the table .
