They use their digestive juices to dissolve and digest dead organism.

In other words they depend on dead organisms.

Symbiotic organisms are in the form commensalism, mutualism and parasitism.

In mutualism both organisms benefit from each other without harming each other.

In Commensalism one organism benefits but does not harm the other organisms.

In parasitism one organism feeds and benefits on the other organism at the cost of the organism being fed on.

The difference between Saprotrophs and symbiotic organisms is that Saprotrophs feed on dead organisms whereas symbiotic organisms feed on living organisms.
