Saturated hydrocarbons: Have only single bonds.

They cannot displace the colour of bromine water.

They do not undergo addition reaction.

Unsaturated hydrocarbons: Have double or triple bonds.

They can displace the colour of bromine water.

They undergo addition reaction to become saturated.

Saturated hydrocarbons have carbon and hydrogen atoms in the molecule bonded with a single bond while in a unsaturated hydrocarbon double and triple bond are present
