Scalar: 1. It shows only magnitude . 2. It cannot be zero. 3. Ex. Speed , distance. Vector: 1. It shows both direction as well as magnitude. 2. It can be zero. 3. Ex. Displacement, velocity.

Scalar quantities contains only magnitude
