smaw stands for shield metal arc welding but you might commonly hear being referred to as welding FCAW,Smaw uses flux to protect the weld pool from damaging atmospheric gases -the only difference is that in smaw flux coats ,electrode ,whereas fcaw it's at the centre.

smaw is a slightly process to learn then fcaw as it's require less equipment and less refined technique. it can be used with most metals - including thick industrial Steel an iron making it one of the most popular widely used weidling technique ever.

mig stand for metal inert gas welding but you might also see its referred to as GMAW ( gas metal arc welding )or MAG ( metal active gas welding ) .This is one of the most common welding technique - and one of the easiest to learn - so it's great for both beginners and large scale production .
