A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Moon and the Sun, and the Earth's shadow obscures the moon or a portion of it.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passed between the Earth and the Sun, blocking all or a portion of the Sun.
Hope it helped !!

Key Differences: Solar Eclipse Vs Lunar Eclipse

#1. Moon vs. Earth

In a solar eclipse, the moon is in between the earth and the sun, whereas, in a lunar eclipse, the earth is in between the sun and the moon.

#2. Night vs. Daytime

A lunar eclipse occurs during the night. A solar eclipse occurs during the daytime.

#3. Contrasting Hues

During a lunar eclipse, the moon is completely obscured, partially visible in an orangish hue. Whereas, during a solar eclipse, because the sun is blocked by the moon, the sun is visible only in some areas.

#4. Occurences In A Year

In total, solar eclipses can occur a few times every year. And the lunar eclipse, on an average, it can occur twice a year.
