Solids
- Solids have definite shape, volume and size.
- It's so because the intermolecular space between the molecules in solids is negligible and the intermolecular force of attraction is high in Solids.
- Solids are rigid.
- Compressibility is negligible in solids.
Liquids
- Liquids have a definite volume, but indefinite shape and size.
- Intermolecular space between the molecules in liquids is more than solids and inter molecular force of attraction is low in liquids as compared to solids.
- Liquids can be compressed.
Gases
- Gases neither have a definite volume, nor they have a definite shape and size.
- Intermolecular space between the molecules in gases is highest as compared to solids and liquids.
- Intermolecular force is negligible in gases.
- Gases can be compressed easily.
Hope it helps.
