In spermiogenesis spermatozoa are formed, while in spermiation spermatozoa are released from sertoli cells into the cavity of seminiferous tubules.
Spermiogenesis is conversion of spermatids into spermatozoa whereas spermiation is the release of the sperms from sertoli cells into the lumen of seminiferous tubule.

The difference between spermiogenesis and spermiation is following -
- In the process of spermiogenesis the sperms are formed while in the process of spermiation sperms are released into seminiferous tubules.
- SPERMIOGENESIS - It is a process of transforming spermatids into mature spermatozoa or sperm.
- SPERMIATION - Sperm get attached to sertoli cells to draw nourishment and finally released from seminiferous tubules by the process called spermiation.
