Spontaneous fusion occurs naturally whereas induced fusion is induced.
Differences between spontaneous and induced fusion:
- Spontaneous fusion occurs when two protoplasts are brought together. Just a physical contact is enough for this kind of fusion.
- On the other hand, an induced fusion occurs when protoplast are fused by chemical, electrical or mechanical methods and this fusion is hence induced.
- Spontaneous fusion is natural whereas induced fusion is not natural.
