  • shares are of equal denomination
  • shares are always registered and are not transferable by mere delivery

stocks:

  • stocks are always fully made up
  • stocks can not be issued at incorporation only fully paid shares can be converted into stocks
  • stocks can be issued or transffered in traditional parts hence a convenient method of transferring
  • stocks are not numbered
  • stocks may be divided into unequal amounts
  • stocks may be registered or unregistered. unregistered stock can be transferred by mere delivery
