The human body contains both striated and smooth muscles. While smooth muscles can be found within the organs, striated muscles can be found attached to the skeleton.

Explanation:

  • Striated Muscles are muscles that have long fibres that are distinguished under a microscope by oblique or transverse striations, or dark and light bands organised alternately.
  • They participate in skeletal muscle movement and are exemplified by vertebrate voluntary muscles.
  • Smooth Muscles are non-striated, involuntary muscles that exhibit slow rhythmic involuntary contractions.
  • The lining of smooth muscles covers the majority of the internal organs and major areas of the digestive tract. The nervous system spontaneously regulates smooth muscles via neurotransmitters, hormones, and other receptors.
  • Because smooth muscles are found in major parts of the body, the body will be unable to perform significant functions if they are not present.
