Bursting of monsoon

Burst of monsoons is the sudden start of
monsoonal rainfall which is characterised by sudden increase in rainfall. It typically happens in the first week of June.
Break of monsoons is the break in the monsoonal rainfall. It typically happens in the month of August. During this period, Monsoon trough shifts closer to the foothills of Himalayas, which leads to sharp decrease in rainfall over most parts of the country. However, there is increased rainfall along the foothills of Himalayas, North-east India and parts of Southern Peninsula.
