Muscular tissues are three types:-
1) Skeletal or voluntary or striated muscles
2)Unstriated or involuntary muscles
3) Cardiac muscles

1) Skeletal or voluntary or striated muscles:- These muscles are called skeletal muscles because they are near to skeleton. theY are also called voluntary muscles as they are under our control. they are also called striated muscles because they have some striations or dark-band like structures on their surface. So they are called striated muscles. The best example is muscles in our arms and legs. They are unbranched and multi-nucleated.

2) Smooth or Unstriated or involuntary muscles:- They are called so because they have a smooth surface and do not have striations on them and they do not work under our control. The best example is the oesophagus and iris in our eye.
They are spindle-shaped and uni-nucleated.

3) Cardiac muscles:- These involuntary muscles cause an rhythmic contraction and relaxation in heart. Those muscles are called Cardiac muscles. They are cylindrical, branched and uni-nucleated.
