Objects that can emit light energy by themselves are known as luminous objects. The luminous objects are visible as they emit light on their own. The non-luminous objects are visible because of luminous objects. The sun and candle are the two examples.

Objects which emits light by its own is called luminous object eg.sun, stars and fireflies etc

Objects which cannot emit light by its own is called non luminous eg.book, table etc

Moon is non luminous as it reflects the sunlight and shine in night
