Himalayan river's source of water are glaciers, mostly. For Rivers in Deccan plateau, they originate from underground water(springs).
HIMALAYAN RIVERS
1) the are snow fed and are therefore perennial rivers.
2) found in northern india.
eg - ganga , yamuna
DECCAN RIVERS
1) they are rain fed and are therefore sesonal rivers.
2) found in southern india.
