Phan Boi Chau: (i) He believed that first the foreign enemy must be driven out and then after their nation's independence they could think of other things.

Phan chu Trinh: (i) He wanted to overthrow the foreign enemy but at the same time he was not against the french legal and educational institutions in Vietnam.
(ii)He disagreed with Phan Boi Chau on the terms of monarchy. He believed in overthrowing the monarchy to promote popular rights.
(iii) He wished to establish democratic republic in Vietnam. He was deeply influenced by the democratic ideals of west and did not want a complete rejection of western civilisation.
(iv) He opposed the idea of resisting the french with the help of the court.
