Fibrous root grow from the main stem of the plant and does not have a primary root like tap root they grow downward and outward with repeating branches to form a mass of small roots the taproot is a dominant root and is a source of many lateral roots that come out of the primary root

the difference between a tap root and fibrous root is the root design.the tap root has a main root and adjoining it are the small side roots . in fibrous root there is no main root it is like a our hair
