the difference  between the three modes of heat transfer is as follows-

CONDUCTION-

  • The heat transfer occurs between the object by direct transfer.
  • the heat transfer takes place due to difference in temperature.
  • heat transfer is a slow process.
  • it does not follows the law of reflection or refraction.
  • EXAMPLE- ice cooling down our hand

CONVECTION-

  • The heat transfer takes place between the fluids.
  • heat transfer occurs due to the difference in density.
  • heat transfer is a fast process
  • it does not follows law of reflection or refraction.
  • EXAMPLE- hot air raising, falling and cooling

RADIATION-

  • heat transfer occurs through electromagnetic waves without involving particles.
  • The heat transfer occurs in all objects with a temperature greater than 0 K
  • Heat transfer in radiation is the fastest.
  • It follows the law of reflection and refraction
  • EXAMPLE- heat from a light bulb
