There are difference in views regarding forests
- For the villagers forests means their source of livelihood. Their whole life dependent upon the forests. From the forests they gets food , wood to make houses, fuel for firewood , grazing lands for their livestock. They things such as honey, latex, etc were sold to earn money.
- The forest department was created inorder to protect the forests. The British Government wanted regular supply of timber for ship building and for railway tracks. For that they need durable timber. So, the hard wood trees were grown in the forests. The entry of people and the grazing of animals were banned.
