The heat from interior of the earth can be utilised as a source of energy under certain favorable conditions that are created by natural process is called geothermal energy.
The water at the surface of any water body is heated by the sun ,while the water in deeper sections is relatively cold .the difference in temperature is exploited to obtain energy and is known as thermal energy
