It is more accurate if you will write it conventional method of irrigation.

Now i come to your question

traditional methods of irrigation involves gravity flow of water once you applied the water In this method of irrigation generally mode of water application is surface It includes basin irrigation, furrow irrigation and border irrigation

but in case of modern method pressurized water is used for irrigation throughout the irrigation. This system includes sprinkler irrigation, drip irrigation In this method water can be applied in both way surface and sub surface Modern irrigation method have the option to apply the fertilizer with irrigation water with the help of fertigation unit

If we talk about water application efficiency then modern irrigation method have higher water application efficiency compared to traditional method

thnx hope it helps u ...

traditional methods are the old methods of farming used in earlier times
these methods are time consuming and production is low
traditional seeds r used
farmers r dependent on monsoon rain
cow dung and other natural manure are used as fertilisers

new and scientific methods of farming which r used nowadays are known as modern methods of farming
these methods are quick and easy and produce higher yield in less period of time
HYV seeds are used
farmers r not dependent on rain as they have the tubewells for irrigation
chemical fertilisers are used
