Differentiate between tropical evergreen forest and tropical monsoon forest

The tropical evergreen forests have tall trees with height of above fifty metres. These forests are calledevergreen as they have no particular time to shed their leaves. They shed their leaves all the time. Tropical monsoon forests have trees of nearly all heights .

Tropical Evergreen Forests In India, they are found in the western slopes of the Western Ghats and in the hills of Jaintia and Khasi, parts of West Bengal, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Important trees include rosewood, mahogany, ebony and bamboo.

Tropical Monsoon Forests In India, monsoon forests form the major vegetation cover and are found in the western and the north- eastern part of the Deccan Plateau and the lower slopes of the Himalayas from Jammu in the west to West Bengal in the east. They are also found in parts of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkand , Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Important trees found in these forests are teak, sal, sandalwood, mahua, khair, mango, jackfruit, wattle and bamboo, semal, sisam , myrobalan, arjun and the banyan tree.
