Answer:

2 a ) Multicostate convergent venation = the midribs that are more than one ; come together at the tip of the leaf . Then it is multicostate convergent venation . e. g. leaf of Smilax .And Dioscorea .

2 b) Multicostate divergent venation = When the midribs are more than one And as the go towards the tip of the leaf , they move away from each other and never meet together , then it is multicostate divergent venation .e.g. Castor leaf

when a leaf has only a single prominent midrib then it is unicostate venation . e.g. Mango and hibiscus leaves .

Differentiate between unicostate and multicostate venation:

Venation is the type of arrangement of the veins on the surface of the leaves in a plant. On the basis of different types of arrangements, the venation is of two different types as follows,

1. Unicostate venation:

  • Unicostate venation is when the leaf surface has a single, very clearly observable midrib, then it is called Unicostate Venation.
  • For example, Mango and Hibiscus leaves.

2. Multicostate venation:

  • When a leaf has more than one midrib, then is is called Multicostate Venation.
  • For example, a shell or coral.
