Differentiate between unitary and federal system of government

Put simply, the difference between a unitary and a federal government is that aunitary government puts its power in one central government while in a federal system the governing power is divided into federal and local governing bodies that connect to the national government.

a. under the unitary system ,either there is one level of government or the sub units are subordinate to the central government
the central government can pass on order s to the provincial or local government.
b. in federal system government and its power are divided at Union and state level ,in some countries even at local self level . in this system ,the central government cannot order the state government to do something.
