Hey Dear Brainly User,

Here is your Answer..

The vital capacity (VC) measures the maximum amount of air that can be inhaled or exhaled during a respiratory cycle. It is the sum of the expiratory reserve volume, tidal volume, and inspiratory reserve volume. ... The total lung capacity (TLC) is a measurement of the total amount of air that the lung can hold.

Hope it will help you,

Vital Lung capacity is huge amount of air a person breathes out from lungs after maximum inhalation.

Its equal to sum of inspiratory reserve volume, tidal volume and expiratory reserve volume.

Person's vital lung capacity is measured by regular spirometer.

Total lung capacity is total amount of air in lungs after taking deepest breath possible.

Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are unable to exhale fully resulting in hyperinflation of lungs and greater total lung capacity
