Answer:

Warm current flows from Equator to poles whereas cold currents originate in the polar region and flow towards the Equator. Warm currents move from the equator to the poles ex Gulf Stream, South Atlantic Current and Cold currents move from poles to the equator ex Labrador Current, West Australian Current.

Answer:

1. Warm water is lighter and rises

2. Warm equatorial water moves polewards along the surface.

3.Those currents that flow from the equator towards the poles are warmer than the surrounding water and so they are called warm currents.

4. This makes the difference in the levels

1. The cold water is denser and sinks

2. The cold water from the poles move along the bottom towards the equator

3. The ocean currents that flow from the Polar areas towards the equator are cooler compared to the surrounding water so they are called cold currents.

4. Cold currents do not give rise to moisture laden winds and heace there is no rainfall in the coastal areas
