Differentiate between Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats

WESTERN GHATS :

1)Western Ghats are continuous Chain of hills starting from Tapti valley in the North to Kanyakumari in the South. 

2)Run almost Parallel to West Coastal Plain

3)Western Ghats act as a Climatic barrier to the South - West monsoon winds. 

4)Most of the rivers that rise in western Ghats drain into Arabian sea .
 
EASTERN GHATS : 


1)Eastern Ghats are discontinuous chain of hills from Mahanadi River in north and Vaigai River in the south .

2)Run parallel to the East Coastal Plain 

3)Eastern Ghats lie on the rain shadow region of the South - West monsoon Winds 
 
4)Most of the rivers that rise in Eastern Ghats drain into Bay of Bengal .

1.western ghats start from Khandesh to Maharashtra but eastern ghats start from Bhubaneswar in Odisha.
2.western ghats end at Kanyakumari whereas eastern ghats end at Nilgiri
3.Western Ghats Run parallel to West Coast where as Eastern Ghats Run parallel to some extent in the east coast
4.Western Ghats are nearer to the Arabian Sea where as Eastern Ghats are nearer to the Bay of Bengal keeping away some distance
5.Western Ghats have gaps where as Eastern Ghats have more number of gas than that of Western Ghats
6.Western Ghats are strongly built where ask Eastern are less strongly built
7.The coastal plain of Western Ghat is not as broad as Eastern Ghats
8.there are dense forest in Western Ghats Where are there are no dense forest in the Eastern Ghats compared to those of the Western Ghats
9.the rivers Godavari and Krishna take origin from the Western Ghats but there are no rivers originating in Eastern Ghats
