autotroph : the organisms that prepare their own food and are dependent on other organisms for their food are called  autotroph for example . green plants

heterotroph: the organisms which depend on other organisms for their food are called heterotroph for example . lion , tiger etc.

All the green plants are known as autotrophs.
Autotrophs are those which can prepare their own food by the process of photosynthesis. Auto means own and trophs mean nutrition or food.Ex- plants and blue green algae.
Heterotrophs are those which cannot make their own food by the process of photosynthesis and depend upon plants and other animals. Heterotrophs can be classified into two parts-saprotrophic and parasitic. Ex-animals including humans and some non green plants.
