Chloroplast and chromoplast are two types of colorful plastids in plants. Following are the differences between chloroplast and chromoplast:
1) While chloroplast is the green color pigment in plants, chromoplast is a colorful pigment with a color range from yellow to red.
2) Chlorophyll is present in chloroplast but not in chromoplast.
3) Chloroplast plays a vital role in photosynthesis but chromoplast does not.
4) Chloroplast has its own DNA and ribosomes whereas chromoplast lack DNA or ribosomes.
