hey mate here's your answer

Ruling party is the party/alliance which gets more than half of the seats in a Lok/Vidhan Sabha. It is the party responsible for handling the governance of a region like development, human development, strengthening the relationships with other regions etc.

Opposition parties are all the other parties/alliances present in the Lok/Vidhan Sabha. Their work is to question, criticize and blame the ruling party for their wrongdoings, so that the ruling party can improve.
