Situated learning is a learning process where one learns knowledge and skills from the actions of everyday situations.

Differences between situated learning and other experiential forms of learning are as follows:-

  1. In situated learning, students gain knowledge and skill through everyday activities. But in experiential teaching, students learn from information provided by instructors.
  2. In situated learning, the content of learning is present in the task itself. This is not the case in experiential learning.
  3. In situated learning approach, learning is dilemma - driven whereas learning is content - driven in experiential learning approach.
  4. In situated learning, students are presented with situations which challenge the intellectual and psycho - motor skills of the learners which they will apply in other situations. The process is completely different in experiential learning.
