●Solute is the substance which is dissolved in a liquid called the solvent. In a salt water, salt is the solute and water the solvent.

Solvent : The substance which dissolves any thing in it.

Solute : The substance which dissolves in solvent

Ex: Take a glass of water. Add salt or sugar to it.

Here water is solvent and salt is solute
