Diseases which spread from one person to another person  are known as   infectious diseases
eg - common cold, TB
Diseases which do  not spread from one person to another person  are known as   infectious diseases
eg - cancer

INFECTIVE DISEASE

  • Caused by external factors example - Pathogens
  • Disease can spread from unhealthy person to healthy person
  • INFECTIVE can spread and infect others via direct contact or medium ( air , water , vectors )
  • Examples - Malaria , Dengue etc...

NON-INFECTIVE DISEASE

  • Caused by internal factors example - Genetic abnormality
  • Diseases do not spread from infected person to healthy person
  • Infection does not spread through direct contact nor by medium however it may be hereditary i.e from parents to offsprings
  • Examples - Goiter , High blood pressure , Diabetes
