Answer:

 \frac{1}{ \sqrt{x + a} }

= \frac{1}{ {(x + a)}^{ \frac{1}{2} } }

=  {(x + a)}^{ -  \frac{1}{2} }

y =  {(x + a)}^{ -  \frac{1}{2} }

Diffrentiate wrt x

 \frac{dy}{dx}  =  \frac{ d}{dx} ( {x + a)}^{ -  \frac{1}{2} }

 =  \frac{ - 1}{2}   {(x + a)}^{ \frac{ - 3}{2} }   \times (1 + 0)

 =  \frac{ - 1}{2}  {(x + a)}^{ \frac{ - 3}{2} }
