(u {}^{2}  - 2) {}^{2}

Using identity

(a - b) {}^{2}  = a {}^{2}  + b {}^{2}   - 2ab

a=u^2 and b=2

So

(u {}^{2} ) {}^{2}  + 2 {}^{2}  - 2(u {}^{2} )(2)

Then

 {u}^{4}  + 4 - 4u {}^{2}
