Differinate among the three pattern of cropping
Answers
The three pattern of cropping are
1.Mixed cropping:The practice of growing of two or more crops simultaneously in the same piece of land
1.Fertility of the soil is improved by growing two crops simultaneously
2.The risk of total crop failure due to uncertain monsoon is reduced
2.Intercropping:The practice of growing two or more crops simultaneously in a same field
1.Soil erosion is effectively arrested
2.It makes better use of the natural resources of water, land and sunlight.
3.Crop Rotation:The practice of growing of different crops on a piece of a land
1.Crop rotation reduces the needs of fertilizers
2.It controls pests and weeds
Answer:
The three types of cropping are:
1) Mixed Cropping:
As the name suggests, in mixed cropping, "two or more types of crops" are grown together on the "same piece of land" which reduces the risk of failing of crops. Some examples of this type of cropping are : "Wheat + Gram, Wheat + Mustard"
2) Inter-cropping:
In inter cropping, two or more crops are grown together on the "same field "but in a "defined pattern". Both the crops can be "individually harvested and threshed". Some examples of this type of cropping are: "Soyabean + Maize"
3) Crop Rotation:
As the name suggests, this type of farming involves growing different crops on the "same piece of land" in "pre- planned rotation". This technique allows soil to replenish itself an gain lost nutrients. Some examples of this type of cropping are: "Maize-Mustard, Rice-Wheat, Maize-Mustard-Sugarcane-Fenugreek"
