Peninsular plateau is generally composed of crystalline rocks which have seen many cycles of granitic activity and metamorphism.Himalayas are composed of sedimentary rocks.ThePlateau has remained little or unaffected since Palaeozoic by any earth movements.The Himalayas are still in the process of formation.
