A Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) is a representative elected by the voters of an electoral district (constituency) to the Legislation of a State in the Indian system of government. ... Each state hasbetween seven and nine MLA for every Member of Parliament (MP) that it has in the Lok Sabha.

MLA (Member of Legislative assembly) He/She is elected from every constituency during the State election (Elections for C.M.). A MLA represents his constituency in the state, he/ she also elects the President during electoral collage. 

MP (Member of Parliament) He/She is elected from every constituency during Central elections (Elections for PM). A MP represents his area in the center. PM is one the MP's. He/ she also elects the President electoral collage.
