eg salmonella clostridium
whereas a microorganism may be useful or harmful.
e.g. amoeba , rhizobium

Pathogens are the agent that causes disease, especially a living microorganisms such as clostridium and salmonella whereas a microorganisms or microbe is a microscopic organisms, which may exist in its single cells or colony in cells they may be harmful or use full like fungus.
