encryption means to convert a written matter or message/email into a coded language or garbage fact
where as decryption means to decode the coded message by a network key
where as decryption means to decode the coded message by a network key

Encryption firstly meant to be securing any matter by converting it into different types of codes. Julius Caesar was the one and firstly know who had used encryption his encryption knows as Caesar code encryption.

Decryption meant to be converting those codes into readable text files or media file.
