Answer:

Some of the issues that the tribe faces include slavery, from a group called the Bantu. The ethnic group enslave the Baka and force them to hunt and work on plantations. If the Baka don't strictly follow their orders, for example if they don't come back hunting with the exact amount of shells that they shot carcas' with, they are severely beaten and sometimes killed.

being punished for hunting. The tribe are not being told about laws and certain areas that they are not allowed to hunt, and are therefore persecuted without any warning. The tribe need to hunt in order to survive, and it is becoming very hard to do so.

The areas that the Pygmies live in, are in thick rainforests. over the past couple of centuries, commercial companies have been destroying huge amounts of the forests, to salvage wood and ores. This has been pushing the Pygmies further out of their homes

Disease is also becoming a huge problem for the Baka Pygmy tribe. It is estimated that half of all Baka children will die before the age of five, and almost all children have malaria. Tuberculosis, Hepatitis type B, Jiggers (parasites), and many more fatal diseased are becoming a huge problem for the tribe.

Because of the corruption the tribe is facing, a lot of the groups youth is resorting to harmful drugs. These drugs include tramadol and glue sniffing. These drugs cause the user to become some what brain dead, therefore most of the younger generations are unable to hunt - destroying the Baka culture as they know it.

The Baka people and their land was once respected, however as time goes on more and more land is being taken by the government and other groups, forcing the Pygmies out.

The government has also set laws preventing the Pygmy tribe from living in forests (their traditional and natural habitats). Instead, safari companies, mining companies, companies cutting own the forests and poachers have access to it, ultimately pushing the Baka out of the forests.
