Distance is a scalar quantity that refers to "how much ground an object has covered" during its motion. Displacement is a vector quantity that refers to "how far out of place an object is"; it is the object's overall change in position.

Answer:

Distance:- Actual length of path covered by the body is called Distance.

  • Distance cannot be "0"(zero) .
  • Distance = Speed × Time

Displacement:- The shortest route travelled by the body from initial to final position in a given direction is called Displacement.

  • Displacement be " 0" (zero) when it's final and initial position is same.
  • Displacement = Final position - Initial position.

Hope this answer helps you.
