bio degradable:

it will decompose in soil

it is obtained from natural plants and animals

it helps environment

it is made from organic

non bio degradable:

it never decompose in soil

it is obtained from plastic

it totally destroys the environment

it releases harmful gases

Answer:

Biodegradable substances are those that degrades or break down naturally. There are some points of biodegradable wastes

  1. The wastes that decompose naturally in the environment and are considered safe for the environment are called as biodegradable substances.
  2. Dead plants and animals, their waste, fruits, vegetables, flowers, paper
  3. The rate of decomposition is Slow.
  4. Decomposed by Bacteria, fungi, and other living organisms have the capability of decomposing the material into the soil.
  5. UseAfter degradation, they can be used to produce biogas, manure, fertilisers, compost.
  6. They do not pollute the environment
  7. Biodegradable substances change their form and structure over time and become harmless
  8. These wastes can be broken down into non-poisonous substances by the action of microorganisms like bacteria and earthworms.
  9. Biodegradable are organic ones whereas the non ones are artificial mostly polymers
  10. Biodegradable can act as soil manures while non ones cannot.

Non-biodegradable substances are those that do not degrade easily. These terms itself defines the ability of the substances which are degradable or not. Materials like plants, animals, their waste, paper, fruits, flowers, vegetables fall under biodegradable substances, on the other hand, rubber, plastic, chemicals, paint plastic falls under the category of the non-biodegradable items. There are some points of non biodegradable wastes

  1. Such wastes which do not decompose naturally in the environment causes pollution and are also harmful to the living being are called the non-biodegradable substances.
  2. Chemicals, paints, plastic, rubber, toxic, plastic, metals, etc.
  3. The rate of decomposition is fast
  4. These substances do not degrade easily or by the action of natural agents.
  5. As their degradation rate is slow and the separation and recycling are not easy and expensive too.
  6. They are harmful to the environment.
  7. Some of them remain inert and begin to accumulate in our surroundings, while others cannot be made less toxic easily and hence keep on polluting the environment.
  8. biodegradable substances remain unchanged over a long period of time.
  9. Biodegradable are organic ones whereas the non ones are artificial mostly polymers
  10. Biodegradable can act as soil manures while non ones cannot

Hope it helps you
