1. The gondawa coal formation is 200 million years ago.  

the tertiary formation is 55 million years ago

2. 80 coal fields are in the lower gondawa system.

33 coal fields are identified as tertiary system

3. It is found in Damodar,Son,Mahandi and Wardha-Godavri river valley.
