Some points in n leukoplast are as follows:-

1. It is a type of organelle which is found in plants.

2. Leukoplast do not have a lot of photosynthetic pigment.

3. It is responsible for storage of storage.

Some points in chromoplast are as follows:-

1. It is a type of pigment pigment synthesis organelle.

2. Function of chromoplast is to store photosynthetic eukaryotes.

3. It is also responsible storage and as well as synthesize carotenoid pigment.

DIFFRENCE BETWEEN LEUKOPLAST AND CHROMOPLAST

LEUCOPLAST

  • They are colourless plastids.

  • They usually occur in unexposed parts of plants.

  • Internal lamellae are present.

  • They take part in storage of various substances like starch (amyloplasts), fat (elaioplasts) and protein (aleuroplasts).

  • The shape is more regular, mostly rounded.

  • They can change to other types of plastids.

  • Leucoplasts do not attract animals as they are colourless.

CHROMOPLAST

  • They are orange-red plastids.

  • They are commonly found in exposed parts like flowers and fruits.

  • Internal lamellae degenerate.

  • Chromoplasts are rich in carotenoid and lipids.

  • The shape is irregular and having angles due to crystallisation of pigments.

  • They do not get changed to other types.

  • Being coloured, chromoplasts attract animals for pollination and fruit dispersal.
