Answer:

metals are good conducter of electricity ,metal reacts with non metal to form ionic bonds for eg sodium chloride (NaCl). metals have high melting point and high boiling point all metals are physically lustrous .

Non metals have high ionisation energies they are poor conductor of heat they are very weak and brittle they have low density .

Explanation:

Metals

(1) all metals are solid at room temperature accept Mercury and Gallium

which is liquid at room temperature.

(2)All metals are lustrous.

(3)Metals have high densities except lithium, sodium and potassium.

(4) Metals are malleable (can be beaten into thin sheets).

Non-metals

(1)Non-metals exists as solid, liquid and gas. Silicon is a solid, bromine is a liquid and oxygen is a gas.

(2)Non-metals are non-lustrous.

(3)They have low density except diamond is almost as heavy as aluminum.

(4)They are non-malleable.
