a. These soils are black in colour and are also known as regur soils. Black soil is ideal for growing cotton and is also known as black cotton soil.

d. They are well-known for their capacity to hold moisture.

b. These soils develop a reddish colour due to diffusion of iron in crystalline and metamorphic rocks.

d.Red soil, Any of a group of soils that develop in a warm, temperate, moist climate under deciduous

e. or mixed forests and that have thin organic and organic-mineral layers

f.overlying a yellowish-brown leached layer resting on an illuvial (see illuviation) red layer.

g.red soil is dark in color and very fertile, while the upper layer is sandy and porous. Thus, proper use of fertilizers and irrigation yields high production of cotton.
