ɢᴇʀᴍʟɪɴᴇ ᴍᴜᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ:-

When a mutation occurs in a germ cell, it is called germline mutation. Since these mutations occur in the cells that create gametes, the mutations can be passed on to offspring.

Germline mutations are most often discovered when they produce a noticeable change or a harmful genetic disorder.

Sᴏᴍᴀᴛɪᴄ ᴍᴜᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ:-

Somatic mutation, genetic alteration acquired by a cell that can be passed to the progeny of the mutated cell in the course of cell division. Somatic mutations differ from germ line mutations, which are inherited genetic alterations that occur in the germ cells (i.e., sperm and eggs).
