Diffusion current in a p-n junction is

Diffusion current is greater than drift current in magnitude when junction is forward biased because:--

●in forward biased ptype is connected to positive terminal and n type to negative terminal .

●electric field due to battery is established is established from p to n type which promotes diffusion of majority charge .

●due to this diffusion current is increased and drift current decreases which is already small as it is due to minority charge carrier.

●so current of diffusion is more that of drift current as it is established after crossing barrier potenial and electric field pwhich promotes diffusion current.
